Quality Assurance Unit -- The unit combines system accountability and monitoring of evidence-based practices to ensure continuous quality improvement of a statewide system of evidence-informed services and programs to improve outcomes for youth offenders placed in the juvenile correctional center, alternative placements, and community-based services, and to reduce recidivism. Our team consists professionals with diverse backgrounds in juvenile justice who are committed to excellence and engaging all DJJ stakeholders.

Certification Unit -- This unit monitors the compliance of residential facilities and court service units with standards promulgated by the Board of Juvenile Justice that regulate their safe and effective operation.

Community Diversion Unit -- This unit is responsible for front-end reform and system improvement efforts. The team works to improve outcomes for youth by increasing diversion opportunities, providing technical assistance and implementation support for the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI), as well as oversight and management of the Virginia Community Crime Control Act (VJCCCA).

Central Admission and Placement (CAP) Unit -- Receives and reviews all commitment packets and conducts the intake, orientation, and evaluation phase of a resident’s direct care admission.

Health Services Unit -- Responsible for providing health and wellness practices through medical and behavioral health services with the goal of returning youth to the community in an overall improved state of health.
